Why spend money on training? A question that too many people ask when deciding on the budget allowances and how they can cut the cost of their IT spend.

Turn that question around, and ask yourself “What if I don’t spend money on training?”

The answers are now straightforward:

• Productivity is not as high as it could be due to inefficient processes deployed
• Users take too long to find out how their new system operates
• Users are trapped into the ‘I taught myself how to use… therefore, I am not doing it correctly’ mentality
• Users feel they are ‘steamrollered’ into change, whereas with a little time spent training, they feel a part of the change process that is necessary in today’s environment, therefore accept the change more easily
• User questions and problems are answered once and for all

The over-riding conclusion from all these points? Productivity can be increased with a little time spent on training.

New Network Facilities (e.g. Internet Access, Outlook, Desktop Faxing)
As your new system is installed, it is essential to alleviate the worry and stress of users’ to new systems. Therefore, we have developed a training programme that will suit both the end user and the installation team.

In just two hours, working in groups of up to four, our Trainer(s) will train your staff on the new systems that they are about to use. Whilst the four are on their training – their machines are configured to look and work in the way they have just been trained. Ensuring productivity is not affected, and the user can ‘jump’ back on their machine and continue their daily task.

For this, the ideal situation is a meeting or training room in your offices set up with four desks and machines and at least one data point. This minimises overheads on things like training centres, equipment and courseware.

Software Upgrade Training
Although unusual to offer full upgrade training from one version of software to another, inexperienced users may feel more confident with specific training. In these cases we can lay on a customised training programme on the things that are required – not a full five-day course.

Tailored Training
Rather than using generic training courses that cover sometimes-unnecessary topics, customise your training to achieve cost effectiveness.

Add to this company requirements such as company templates, database manipulation or data conversion and what you have is a tailored and structured way of training your staff. We are also able to effect the customisation for you, depending on what you require and in what detail, we can set aside a couple of days for the customisation.

No customisation budget has been allowed in the cost summary, but for a couple of days set aside a small budget of around £1400. The work will be completed by either the installation team, trainer or one of our Programme Developers – all of whom will be familiar with your set up.
